Community Liaison Intern

Location: Atlanta, GA (DeKalb County)-Remote

Salary: Non-Stipend

Job Summary

Under general guidance, the Community Coordinator Liaison is a highly qualified individual responsible for building partnerships with other government and community organizations. The Community Coordinator Liaison provides support and manages the organization’s social media platforms and disseminates marketing material. The Community Coordinator Liaison typically works from home and may occasionally require travel to attend community events held on evenings or weekends.


Reporting and Responsibilities

The person in this position reports to the program administrator or his or her designee.


Primary Functions and Responsibilities

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.  This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities and duties required for this position. Other duties may include:


  • Daily communication and respond to all supporters on social media platforms and email inquiries.
  • Promote program services and events on the organization’s social media platforms.
  • Assist with community engagement with stakeholders.
  •  Assist with the development and implementation of event fundraisers.
  • Research private and public entities for sponsorship of program events.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Adhere to all EBLLC policies and procedures.
  • Perform all other essential duties and or activities designated by EBLLC administration.


Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing an associate o bachelor's degree      in communication, marketing, business management or related fields.
  • Provide proof of enrollment and the ability to obtain approval from the Department Chair or designee for the school of study. This is necessary to ensure that you meet the academic prerequisites and have the support of your department for your proposed study plan.
  • Must possess or have accessibility to a computer and internet.
  • Knowledge and experience in marketing.
  • Two-years or more experience in marketing.
  • Knowledge and experience in fundraising.
  • Must possess a valid First Aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain it within 30-days of hire.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess interpersonal abilities to work well with staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Satisfactory background screening.

Education Specialist Intern

Job Summary

Under general guidance, the Education Specialist Intern is a highly qualified individual responsible for delivering specific support in an online/in-person and outdoor setting.  Education Specialist Interns assist with providing instruction, support, and guidance in the learning process, and focus on the needs of student program participants.  Education Specialist Interns also assist with the monitoring of student participants’ progress through program curriculum and resources as identified by organization.  Education Specialist Interns typically travel to various school garden sites; however, they may occasionally work from home or otherwise required by program administration.


Reporting and Responsibilities

The person in this position reports to the Education Specialist II and Executive Director.


Primary Functions and Responsibilities

The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position.  This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities and duties required.  Other duties may include:


  • Assist with the creation of weekly innovative and fun gardening lesson plans for elementary through high school students based on program curriculum and standards.
  • Assist with the instruction, support, and guidance of the learning progress of student program participants and monitor the progress of program participant’s skills and knowledge level.
  • Assist with the coordination and facilitation of meetings deemed beneficial for the development and capacity building of youth development programs.
  • Meet with administrators and community leaders to provide program updates and suggestions on program improvement.
  •  Assist with compiling program information and the development of reports on the overall progression of program functionality.
  • Adhere to all EBLLC policies and procedures.
  • Execute all duties and activities assigned by EBLLC administration.


Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an accredited college/university pursing an associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Education, Biology, or related field.
  •  Provide proof of enrollment and the ability to obtain approval from the Department Chair or designee for the school of study. This is necessary to ensure that you meet the academic prerequisites and have the support of your department for your proposed study plan.
  • Must possess or have accessibility to a computer and internet. 
  • Knowledge and experience in gardening concepts and methods.
  • One year or more experience working with children.
  • Must possess valid First Aid and CPR certification or be able to obtain it within 30-days of hire.
  • Capable of lifting and moving up to 30 lbs.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess interpersonal abilities to work well with staff, parents, and community stakeholders.
  • Satisfactory background screening.
  • Have reliable transportation to reach different work sites.
